Global Logistics Specialist for International Students
A Professional Designation Program

CSULB’s American Language Institute (ALI) and the Center for International Trade & Transportation (CITT) now offer the Global Logistics Specialist (GLS) Professional Designation Program for international students. Through this program, you will participate in all six modules of the Global Logistics Specialist (GLS) courses with regional industry experts, fellow classmates from CSULB, and students from around the world. The six month program is designed to provide supply chain/logistics training from a U.S. perspective. Additionally, it offers English language instruction from ALI and/or University courses offered through “Open University.” Students will also experience various aspects of the U.S. culture.

The GLS designation is endorsed by industry professionals as a comprehensive educational program for individuals entering or seeking advancement in the field of supply chain management and logistics. The designation enhances marketability and opportunities for career advancement. You can earn the designation in six months to a year.

The Global Logistics Specialist (GLS) program for international students combines GLS courses and ALI electives or CSULB courses through Open University. The GLS courses are grouped into six modules which includes a final team Capstone Project (an oral presentation and written logistics plan).

Program Requirements:
  • To participate in the program, advanced level English is required (minimum TOEFL 61 iBT, IELTS 5.5, TOEIC 700, or iTEP 3.5).
  • While participating in the program, international students must maintain full-time student status.
  • Students enrolled in a full-time program at a different institution may be able to concurrently enroll in the GLS program, Please contact snishiguchi@ccpe.csulb.edu for more information.
FEE:

The fee for the entire GLSI program is $6,900. Fees will be due at the time of application submission.

Application Procedures for Global Logistics Specialist Program for International StudentsSubmit:

  • Global Logistics Specialist International Program Application Form: Download the program application form. (The application form is intended to be printed and filled out by hand. If you need assistance completing the form please contact CITT at (562) 985-8529. Print out the form with your local printer.)
  • $150 application fee (non-refundable): Non-refundable. Send a personal check drawn on a U.S. bank account, a money order, cashier’s check, or bank check from either a U.S. or non-U.S. bank account. Make checks payable to “CSULB.” Visa and MasterCard also accepted. This fee will also be used to send your I-20 by express mail (2-3 day delivery).
  • Bank statement: To obtain an I-20 for an F-1 student visa, enclose a bank statement with a minimum balance of $11,450 U.S. dollars or equivalent convertible currency. Acceptable documents include your or your sponsor’s bank account in the U.S. or your own country. Currency need not be stated in U.S. dollars.
  • Passport Information: Please copy the pages in your passport on which your name and date of birth appear.
  • Original TOEFL, IELTS, TOEIC, or iTEP Score Report
  • Filing Dates: If you are applying from outside the United States and wish to obtain an F-1 student visa, your application should arrive at CCPE at least two months prior to the start of the academic term. In-country applicants may submit their applications with appropriate documents up to one week prior to the beginning of classes.
