Master of Science in Emergency Services Administration

    The Master of Science in Emergency Services Administration (EMER) degree program at California State University, Long Beach (CSULB) is an entirely online program that focuses on building the leadership and critical thinking skills needed to create and manage disaster-resilient communities. The program was developed for the working professional and educates students in the interdisciplinary research and theory of disaster management while requiring them to create Capstone projects that directly strengthen their organizations or benefit communities.

    In recent years, emergency services professions have become extremely competitive, with demands for personnel to further their education to attain promotion and keep up with technical advances. Those in the following fields are well-suited for this program:

    • firefighters
    • police officers
    • military personnel
    • emergency medical services personnel
    • disaster response planners within government, business, and industry
