Master of Business Administration - Daytime Accelerated MBA
Degree Program

Fast-paced management education for the international business environment

A world that is increasingly interconnected, fast-moving, and innovative demands a work force that possesses the skills that match these conditions. The CSULB Daytime Accelerated MBA Program is designed to provide students with the competencies to understand and master these challenges. An MBA program that combines a fast-paced diverse environment with experienced faculty is the ideal starting point for students without much work experience. Students with work experience will be able to update their skills or ease the transition between jobs, and international students will benefit from the immersion in U.S. culture and language. The Daytime Accelerated MBA Program is distinguished both by its local environment and CSULB’s 45-year tradition of high-quality MBA programs.

Program Description:

The program’s cohort-based structure features five 10-week quarters to be completed in 13 months. A carefully selected group of 25-35 students goes through the program together, fostering a true team work environment that mirrors the workplace. The accelerated nature of the program delivers academically intense courses that prepare students for the competitive global work environment. The program incorporates a one-week international experience that provides students the opportunity to experience how business is conducted on a global scale.

In the first three quarters of the program, students with undergraduate degrees in non-business disciplines take the four first-year core courses along with second-year courses. Under this model, students begin and end the program together, strengthening the cohort from the very beginning.

The program also includes a language and culture component taught by Lisa Vollendorf, Ph.D. and Enrico Vettore, Ph.D., faculty in the Romance Language Department at CSULB. Students will experience 10 weeks of instruction in the basics of the language and culture of the destination of the international experience. Students can expect to learn fundamental phrases and vocabulary as well as cultural do’s and don’ts that will significantly enhance their experience abroad.
