Bachelor of Arts in Liberal Arts
Degree Completion Program

This degree completion program is designed to provide working adults, who have accrued some college credits, with a scheduling format that is more conducive to their lives, thereby providing a stronger possibility of graduation. The program is designed in a cohort format which provides opportunities for networking, as well as an environment where shared interests, knowledge and skills enhance the entire learning experience. The degree will be in an area (Liberal Arts) that is broad enough to support a wide variety of transferable units, as well as students with wide-ranging career interests.

Each course in the program has been selected to address the necessary marketable skills of a liberal arts degree completion program, as defined by business leaders throughout the country and reported on by the National Association of Colleges and Employers.

This program is primarily geared toward serving the needs of non-traditional students and adults who are re-entering education. Classes will be taught face-to-face on the CSULB campus on Wednesdays and Saturdays.

Program Admission Requirements:

  • Students entering the program must be General Education (GE) Certified
  • A minimum of 78 units, including lower division GE, and eight units of credit from a four-year university
  • A minimum grade point average (GPA) of 2.0 in all transferable units attempted, and good standing at the college you last attended.
  • Students must take the Writing Proficiency Exam (WPE). Students in the BALA program must attempt the Writing Proficiency Exam (WPE) within the first semester of enrollment. Failure to attempt the exam within the first semester will result in a registration hold of the student’s record.
