Applied Statistics
Certificate Program

Bachelor's degree from an accredited institution.

This hands-on program, offered through the Department of Mathematics and Statistics in partnership with the College of Continuing and Professional Education (CCPE), is designed so that the working professional can gain the skills and knowledge needed in Applied Statistics. You will be able to immediately apply the statistical techniques learned.

Program Description

This program offers a unique opportunity for working adults who wish to advance their careers, pursue a teaching job, or move on to more advanced study. Participants will use the latest statistical software such as SAS, MATLAB, SPSS, and Minitab on systems in a state-of-the-art computer lab on the CSULB campus where parking is provided. This 12-unit program is designed to provide you with applied statistical skills required in industry.

  • Data Analysis with SAS
  • Data Mining
  • Nonparametric Statistics
  • Random Processes
  • Statistical Analysis for Medical Data

  • Survey Sampling
  • Time Series
  • Special Topics in Statistics (Six Sigma, etc.)

Special Features and Benefits:

  • Accelerated schedule-four sessions (Fall, Winter, Spring, and Summer)
  • You will take no more than two courses at a time. If you wish, you can take only one at a time and go at a slower pace
  • Early evening courses offered at CSULB campus
  • Course work can be completed in one year

  • Software for statistical analysis

How Do I Complete the Certificate?

  • Complete Regression Analysis and three elective courses.

You Will Receive:

  • A certificate of completion.
  • College credit for courses taken, which can be transferred to other academic programs.
