The State of California has mandated that by 2010 every practicing Alcohol and Drug Counselor in the state of California must be certified!
CSULB's University College and Extension Services is here to help meet the needs of professionals in the field with training for everyone involved in the treatment of addiction. Participation in this program will guarantee that you will exceed the minimum number of hours required by the state, you will fulfill all of the CAADAC basic certification requirements, through a program that encompasses the coursework for numerous state, national and international addiction treatment credentials. For a full description of the program click here.
Once you have completed the the training you will be eligible to become a Registered Alcohol Drug Counselor.
CSULB conducts monthly information sessions. The information sessions are short presentations by a program representative and instructor (Letitia Keller), with a question and answer session at the end.
