Welcome to Open University. You can enroll in most regular CSULB courses without being admitted as a full or part-time student! Students can enroll in University courses on a 'space available' basis, subject to the approval of the instructor and the department chair concerned. This is known as 'Open University'.
For students not currently admitted to CSULB, this is your opportunity to enroll in courses offered by the university. Students who enroll through Open University will receive Open University Special Sessions Credit.
You are able to apply up to 24 units of Open University Special Sessions credit toward a baccalaureate degree. Post-baccalaureate students may apply 6 units toward a post-baccalaureate degree, 9 units may be accepted with department approval.
