    The College of Continuing and Professional Education (CCPE) is committed to respecting your privacy. You can visit the CCPE web site without revealing any personal information. Should you choose to register for a course, you will be required to provide your personal information. Be assured that it will only be used by CCPE to conduct official university business. Personal information will never be provided to any third party except as required by law.

    Information Gathering

    We use IP addresses (the Internet address of your computer) to help diagnose problems with our servers and to administer our web site. CCPE collects information to improve the functionality and content and to monitor performance of our site. For example, we run statistical software to identify which parts of our web site are most heavily used. We do not link IP addresses to any personal information.

    Like many other web sites, portions of the CCPE web site may use cookies. This is typically done to recognize you and your access privileges. Using cookies allows the user to avoid the need to constantly reenter a password. These cookies are stored on your computer and never contain personal information, and cannot be accessed remotely by anyone other than CCPE.

    Use of Information

    While aggregate statistical reports on web usage may be generated, no personal information will ever be provided to any third party except as required by law. Any personal information collected is to conduct official university business only.

    Your Social Security Number

    The California Code of Regulations (Section 41201, Title 5) and the Internal Revenue Code (Section 6109) require you to provide the university with your correct Social Security number.
    The university uses your Social Security number to identify your academic records and to collect any debts you may owe to CSULB. The university also uses your Social Security number to file information required by the IRS (see the CSULB catalog or web site). The IRS may penalize any student who does not provide the university with his or her correct Social Security number.

    Security

    All CCPE web servers have appropriate physical, electronic, and managerial procedures in place to safeguard and secure all information we collect online. Furthermore, we use encryption when collecting or transferring sensitive data such as credit card information.

    Third Party Sites

    Sites within the CCPE web site may link to external sites outside of the CCPE domain as a convenience to you. If you use these links, you will leave the CCPE web site.
