Workforce development is a human resources strategy that
enhances a region’s economic stability and prosperity by focusing on
individuals. Workforce development programs have strong ties to the community
and respond rapidly to evolving workplace needs.
American Workforce Investment Act of 1998 recognized the growing importance of
this effort and created Workforce Investment Boards, bringing workforce
development to the forefront while highlighting the importance of the
community’s involvement in developing workers’ skills.
CCPE’s Professional Programs department is dedicated to
