Workforce Development

Workforce development is a human resources strategy that attempts to enhance a region’s economic stability and prosperity by focusing on individuals. Workforce development programs have strong ties to the community and are well equipped to respond to changes in their environments. The American Workforce Investment Act of 1998 demonstrated the growing importance of workforce development and created Workforce Investment Boards, which brought workforce development to the forefront while highlighting the importance of the community’s involvement in developing workers’ skills.

CCPE’s Professional Programs department is dedicated to providing workers with new job skills, especially those who have been laid off or unemployed for long periods of time. It is our mission to bring people back into the workforce.
