Workforce Development

Workforce development is a human resources strategy that enhances a region’s economic stability and prosperity by focusing on individuals. Workforce development programs have strong ties to the community and respond rapidly to evolving workplace needs. The American Workforce Investment Act of 1998 recognized the growing importance of this effort and created Workforce Investment Boards, bringing workforce development to the forefront while highlighting the importance of the community’s involvement in developing workers’ skills.

CCPE’s Professional Programs department is dedicated to providing workers with new job skills, especially those who have been laid off or unemployed for a long time. It’s our mission to bring them back into the workforce.
