California State University, Long Beach is pleased to host for the second time the Chinese Film and Culture Festival from October 20 – 26, 2011. This free, weeklong event will focus on the unique intangible treasures of Tianjin province in China, and includes screenings of recent Chinese films and a cultural heritage and craft exhibit that features bottle-gourd painting, kites, stilt walking, and more.
The opening ceremony, to be held on Thursday, Oct. 20, from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. in the Carpenter Performing Arts Center,will also include a performance by the Peking Opera Troupe and a Bian Lian (Face-Changing) performance. The Chinese band GrayWolf will perform on Wednesday, October 26th at 7:00 pm in the Beach Auditorium.
The event will be held in the CSULB Student Union and is open to the public.
